Lying Treadmills

Went to the gym today, and feel kinda frustrated/confused. Last time I went on the treadmills, I did 40 minutes and on their speed thing my speed averaged about 2.3 and it said I did 2 miles. Today I did 30 minutes on the treadmill, never went under 2.5, was mostly at 2.8 and went up to 4.5 a few times for 30-60 second sprints, and it said I did 1.42 miles. That just doesn’t add up. In the first scenario, I’m going at a slower speed and doing a 20 minute mile, but in the second scenario I’m going faster and a mile is taking longer?

*I’m not letting it get to me…I’m not letting it destroy my motivation. I know I’m improving, no matter which one is right, I worked harder today then I did before. I’m just one of those people who needs to know everything and gets frustrated when things are illogical.

Thanks for reading my little rant :)

By the way, I saw a news clip about a girl who lost 120 lbs in 11 months. The first day of her exercising she did 20 minutes of cardio, she started by running for 30 seconds then she walked the rest. Every day she added 30 seconds to her running time until she was running the full 20 minutes, by the time she could run all 20 minutes without stopping she had lost 50 pounds. Just thought it was an inspirational story.

    Cool story.

Let the gym know that the machine is messed up. I’m sure they can get it fixed. Good for you for keeping going.
